Description: A fine silver rose water sprinkler shaped like a lion with small inkwell at the base. Rosewater sprinkling was an Iranian custom to celebrate the festival of Ab Pashan to symbolise rainfall that would put an end to famine. The festival was celebrated annually during the reign of Mughal Emperor Jehangir when courtiers sprinkled each other from elongated vases.
