Description: Bronze coin purse made by Cire Perdue (lost wax) process. Strands of wax are overlapped in a pattern on a temporary clay form. Soft, wet clay is then placed over the wax pattern to form a mould. Once the clay has dried, it is fired to melt the wax, leaving a hollow clay mould in which molten metal is poured. Upon cooling, the clay mould is broken away, revealing the finished piece ready to be polished.
